Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Wednesday claimed to have killed top TRF commander Mehran from Srinagar and two militants in brief shootout near Rambagh bridge in Srinagar.
Police has identified one of the slain militants as Mehran Shalla of Jamallta of Downtown Srinagar.
The identity of other two militants has not been revealed, but reports said that one of them is Manzoor Mir son of Sonaullah Mir of Babhara in Pulwama district.
Police claimed that Mehran was involved in the killing of two government teachers in a school in Eidgah in Srinagar last month.
Minor clashes and protests broke out at the spot where the militants were killed on Rambagh-Natipora raid near the Rambagh bridge. Police and CRPF personnel rushed to the spot to disperse the locals who were protesting at the spot.
