Srinagar, Jun 25, KDC: In a tragic incident, a sister drowned to death while attempting to rescue her brother in Shahtulpora Sumbal area in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A top police official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that a boy namely Nazakat Ali (21) son of Mohammad Afzal drowned while taking bath in a river in Shahtulpora of Sumbal. As the news spread, police with locals made efforts to rescue the boy and in the meantime sister of the drowned boy jumped into the river in a frantic attempt to save her brother.
As the boy was barely rescued, his sister identified as Nuzhat Afzal (18) was found to have lost her breath upon her retrieval from the Jehlum. Her brother has been referred to JVC Hospital in critical conditions. (KDC)
