Srinagar, June 21, KDC: Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar celebrated World Yoga Day with great zeal and mindfulness, promoting the significance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being. The event witnessed active participation from students and staff, who came together to embrace the practice of yoga and its numerous benefits.

Under the guidance of experienced yoga instructors, the students and staff of DPS Srinagar immersed themselves in various yoga asanas and breathing exercises, fostering a sense of calmness and harmony. The event aimed to instill the importance of incorporating yoga into daily routines and recognizing its role in promoting a balanced lifestyle.

Speaking on the occasion, Mudasir Bashir, School Games Secretary, highlighted the significance of yoga in fostering physical fitness, enhancing concentration, and reducing stress. He said, “Yoga is not just a physical exercise but a holistic approach to achieve overall well-being. It teaches us the art of balancing our mind, body, and soul, and I am delighted to witness the active participation of our students and staff in this rejuvenating practice.”

Principal Shafaq Afshan emphasized the importance of World Yoga Day in promoting unity and peace among individuals. She said, “Yoga is a powerful tool that connects people from different backgrounds and cultures. It helps in promoting mindfulness, empathy, and inner peace. Our school recognizes the immense benefits of yoga and is committed to integrating it into our curriculum and daily routines.”

Chairman Vijay Dhar emphasized the transformative power of yoga, stating, “Yoga is a timeless tradition that has been practiced for centuries. It enables individuals to develop strength, flexibility, and self-awareness. World Yoga Day serves as a reminder of the positive impact that yoga can have on our lives, and I am proud of our students and staff for embracing this ancient practice.”

The celebration of World Yoga Day at DPS Srinagar serves as a reminder of the school’s commitment to holistic education and promoting the overall well-being of its students and staff.
