Srinagar, Apr 11, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir police in Srinagar on Tuesday have busted another sex racket in summer capital Srinagar, police said.

Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that on reliable inputs, a police party of Chanapora police station cracked another sex racket at Nowgam area here.

The residential/shopping complex of Abdul Rashid Kakroo R/o Hyderpora at Shankar-Pora Wanbal Nowgam was searched in presence of Naib Tehsildar B.k Pora after police got specific inputs about the sex racket, they said.

The arrested persons were identified as Shabir Ahmed Mir S/o Abdul Rehim Mir R/o Charlipora Nowgam who was the main kingpin of the racket, Shazia Shabir Mir W/o shabir Ahmed Mir R/o Chararipora Nowgam , who was operating this prostitution racket along with her  abovementioned husband, Adil Gulzar HazarS/o Gulzar Ahmed HazaarR/o Soura Srinagar, co accused in running the racket. In addition to this, one sex worker, a local girl( name witheld) and 2 Customers namely Nazir Ahmad Malla S/o Gh. Qadir Malla R/o Narbal and Irshad Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Nabi Dar R/o Narbal.

Srinagar police in a tweet informed “Investigation in chanpura case led to busting of another prostitution racket in Nowgam area. 1) Shabir Mir of charlipora nowgam, 2) his wife Shazia Mir & 3) Adil Gulzar Hazar of Soura arrested on spot for operating this racket. 2 customers & a sex worker also detained (all locals)”.

Srinagar police said the investigation is on and more such raids are expected to be made in the coming days. The general public is once again requested to verify the identity of their tenants  with the local police station and install  CCTVS in their properties.
