Tangmarg, Dec 16, KDC: An elderly man was injured after a leopard attacked him in Marispora area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday morning triggering a scare in the entire vicinity.

Local sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) that a leopard was spotted in a cowshed of Abdul Aziz Lone at Marispora. An elderly local man identified as Mohammad Ramzan Ganie was injured in the attack. The injured person was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment, they said.

The locals from Marispora alleged that the wildlife department was conveyed earlier about the presence of wild animals, however, they showed non-seriousness about the matter.

Residents of the area appealed to the Wildlife Department to capture that leopard as soon as possible in order to prevent any further attack.

An official from the wildlife department assured that their team is on the spot, and have confirmed about the presence of that leapord in that cowshed and have assured that they would catch that wild animal very soon. (KDC)
