Srinagar, Feb 03, KDC: A prime land recorded in the possession of SMC (State Land) under Khasra No. 437 Min in Estate Rampora in Tehsil Shalteng in summer capital Srinagar had been ‘leased’ in favour of a private individual through ‘auction notice’.
Reports said that the plot measuring (5400 sft) is a State land and is located at a prime location on Batamaloo-Qamarwari road worth several crores, but the same has been allotted at a petty nominal rate.
The land is in the possession of Adnan Manzoor, a resident of Bhagat Srinagar and Zahoor Ahmad Wani, a resident of Gagribal, Dalgate Srinagar as per document, claiming that land has been leased out to them by the corporation.
Official sources told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that Revenue Department Srinagar had taken cognizance of the matter and sought details from SMC on 10-12-2022, but the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has not replied to the verifications and enquiry of the Revenue Department so far. The private individuals have sought now transfer of that state land, reports said.
Presently shopping complexes are being constructed on the same land with the permission from SMC. (KDC)
