Srinagar, Oct 22, KDC: State Investigation Agency (SIA) is carrying out raids at multiple locations in Kashmir valley on Saturday morning as part of its investigation into militancy funding case in the Union territory, sources said.

Sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the sleuths of the investigating agency with the assistance of the local police and the CRPF carried out raids in summer capital Srinagar, Shopian and Baramulla districts.

In Srinagar, raids are being conducted at the residence of Zahoor Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Aziz Mir, a resident of Parimpora opposite Bus-Stand, Baba building residency Road on the fourth floor to one tour and travel which belongs to Burhan ul Haq resident of Noorbagh.

Another SIA team the residence of Ali Mohd Wani (Pashmina business) son of Abdul Aziz Wani, a resident of Gander-Pora Eidgah and recovered/ seized 01 no cell phone, bank passbook 02 No and a passport, In Nowhatta area searches were conducted at two locations headed by DYSP Farooq Ahmad and Ghulam Gelani in the houses of Mohammad Arif Shah son of Fayaz Ahmad Shah and Mohd Younus Wani son of Khizer Mohammad Wani.

Similarly, reports reaching KDC said that raids are being conducted in Pattan area of Baramulla district and southern Kashmir’s Shopian.

SIA in a statement according to Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com said “Continuing to rein in the financial networks of terror outfits with a purpose of destroying its ecosystem and support structure of terrorism completely, State Investigation Agency, Kashmir today on conducted searches at multiple locations across valley. About 14 Houses & a business premise of suspects in Srinagar, Sopore, Baramulla and Shopian were searched in compliance to search warrant obtained from the Court of Special Judge, Designated under NIA Act (TADA/POTA) Srinagar in connection with investigation of case FIR No. 7/2022 u/s 13, 18, 19, 39, 40 UA (P) Act, 121, 121-A IPC, registered in Police Station CIK (SIA) Kashmir”.

“The case pertains to financial networks of terror outfits operating in valley. The case came to be registered on a reliable informtion that a group of over ground workers  of  terrorist organisations  in connivance with and active support from their Pakistan based terror handlers including terrorists who had exfiltrated from valley , now based in Pakistan are arranging a variety of logistic support including channelling finances with the overall objective of furthering and sustaining terror activities in J&K in order to destabilize the Union of India by clandestinely waging war,” they said.

During the searches, incriminating material, electronic gadgets, mobile phones, bank documents and other articles having bearing on the investigation have been recovered and seized, it said adding that analysis of the data would follow and leads that would emerge would become the basis for further investigation.

It is pertinent to mention here that the searches are aimed at dismantling the financial networks of the terrorist outfits, the statement addded. (KDC)
