NIA raids underway at multiple locations across J&K

Srinagar, Oct 11, KDC: The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted raids at multiple locations across Jammu and Kashmir including founder and rector of Darul Uloom Raheemiyyah Bandipora, Moulana Rehmatullah Qasmi.

Official sources told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that sleuths of NIA with the assistance of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF carried out raids at Srinagar, Pulwama, Budgam, Bandipora, Shopian and other locations.

In Bandipora, the residence of religious preacher and head Darul Uloom Raheemiyyah Bandipora, Moulana Rehmatullah Qasmi was searched by a team of the agency.

A NIA team headed by Inspector Hari Dev Yadav raided the residence of Mufti Mehraj U Din Shah son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah, a resident of Rajpora A/p Chanapora Srinagar, by profession Govt. Employee at Engineering College Srinagar and carried out searches. Another team raided the house of Dr Tajamul Hussain (doctor), son of Ghulam Rasool Ahanger, a resident of Sutra Shahi Sheed Gunj here. Dr Tajamul along with his family is presently staying in South Africa for 10 years. The house of B .A . Bashir, a resident of Balgarden Srinagar, President Fruit sellers association was also searched by the National Investigation team.

Another team of NIA is carrying out a raid in the house of Shamim Ahmed lone, a resident of Shah Anwar colony in Hyderpora. He is professor at NIT Srinagar. The house of Hamid Fayaz who is said to be a JeI member is also being searched at Hyderpora by the probing agency.

In Pulwama, the team raided the house of Ali Mohammad lone @ Advocate Zahid Ali, a resident of Nehama Kakapora and Alflah Yateem Trust. Residence of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat (Govt teacher) son of late Naseer Ahmad at Charsoo Awantipora was raided by another team and carried out searches.

In Shopia’s Zainapora, a team of NIA searched the residential house of Shamim Ahmed Loneson of Ghulam Ahmad was raided by the sleuth of agency and carried out searches.

Similarly, the raids were going on at other locations also in Jammu and Kashmir.

An official confirmed to KDC and said raids are being conducted in connection with a case already registered at the NIA office. The details of the case will be shared later, he said. (KDC)
