Srinagar, October 17, KDC: Two terrorists were killed in an ongoing anti-infiltration operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday, according to media reports citing defence sources.
The encounter reportedly broke out in the early hours of Saturday in the Jumagund area of the Keran sector after troops detected suspicious movement and challenged the suspected individuals, triggering an exchange of fire.
According to reports quoting a senior defence official, the encounter began around 3:30 am, and two terrorists were killed during the operation.
Search operations were continuing in the area to check for any additional threats, while further details were awaited.
The operation was underway when the latest reports emerged.
