Jammu, Oct 16, KDC: The Interim Body of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) Association has called for a one-day pen-down strike to protest the alleged humiliation of a woman JKAS officer during an official meeting on October 14.

According to a communication issued to its members, according news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), the association has called for the strike to express its concern over the incident and to uphold the dignity, self-respect and institutional honour of the service fraternity.

Urging its members to stand united in solidarity, the association said that an attack on the dignity of one officer concerns the entire fraternity.

The move comes amid the controversy surrounding an alleged heated exchange between a senior IAS officer Kumar Rajeev Ranjan and a woman JKAS officer beenish Wani during a Mission YUVA review meeting in Srinagar.

The association’s communication called upon members to demonstrate unity in support of their colleague. (KDC)
