Srinagar, Oct 1, KDC: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat has recently flagged the comparatively slow progress in land-record verification and administrative approvals in Bijbehara tehsil, directing the concerned revenue authorities to accelerate the process and clear pending cases on a time-bound basis.

Dr Bilal chaired a meeting at the DC Office Complex on October 1 to review the progress of land-record digitisation and implementation of AgriStack across the district, covering 259 target villages.

The meeting was informed that 4,15,839 of 5,01,687 entries, or 82.89 per cent, had been verified, while 4,04,948 entries, or 80.72 per cent, had received final administrative approval.

While Dooru, Qazigund, Larnoo, Shahbadbala, Kokernag and Shangus recorded near-complete progress in verification and approval, the Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over the slower pace in Anantnag East, Bijbehara and Sallar.

The concerned Tehsildars were directed to prepare village-wise clearance schedules and expedite disposal of pending cases. Tehsildar Bijbehara Sajad Pervaz Khan, who is also holding additional charge of Sallar, is among the revenue officers responsible for the two tehsils. The official district directory currently lists Khan against both Bijbehara and Sallar.

The meeting also reviewed AgriStack implementation, particularly bucket claiming and Farmer ID registration. Against the district target of 1,67,534 buckets, 11,001 Farmer ID registrations (6.57 per cent) and 9,624 bucket claims (5.74 per cent) had been completed.

The Deputy Commissioner directed Revenue and Agriculture field functionaries to organise joint village-level saturation and registration camps to facilitate farmers and speed up Farmer ID generation and bucket claiming.

SDMs were asked to monitor the progress daily and review tehsil- and halqa-level performance every day at 5 PM.

Dr Bilal stressed the need for close coordination among the concerned departments and called for time-bound completion of verification, administrative approvals and Farmer ID registrations.

The meeting was attended by the ACR, SDMs, Tehsildars and other concerned officers and officials.
