Srinagar, October 8 (KDC): In a significant digital initiative aimed at making government rules and regulations more accessible, Shahnawaz Qadir, Assistant Accounts Officer, Codes Division, and Feroz Ahmad Mir, Joint Director, Codes, have developed a dedicated JKCSR App to provide convenient, quick and user-friendly access to the J&K Civil Services Regulations, 1956 (JKCSR) through mobile devices.
The initiative is aimed at leveraging digital technology to simplify access to an important body of service and financial regulations that are frequently referred to by government officers and officials while discharging their official responsibilities.
The application eliminates the need to carry or consult the bulky physical volumes of the JKCSR and provides users with a readily accessible digital platform to refer to relevant provisions anytime and anywhere.
Developed with a focus on simplicity, accessibility and ease of navigation, the application provides structured access to the Regulations through part-wise, chapter-wise and article-wise navigation. This enables users to locate and read specific provisions without having to manually search through the physical volumes.
A key feature of the JKCSR App is its powerful search and customised search functionality, allowing users to quickly locate relevant provisions according to their specific requirements, reported news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
The application also provides article-wise viewing, a simple reading interface and quick access to relevant provisions, making it particularly useful for officers and officials who require frequent reference to the Regulations while dealing with service, pension, financial and other related matters.
The JKCSR App incorporates several user-friendly features, including part-wise and chapter-wise navigation, article-wise viewing, powerful search and customised search options, quick access to relevant provisions, an easy navigation and reading interface, and copy and share functionality.
It also includes an “Article of the Day” feature and notification facility, besides several other features designed to make the Regulations more accessible and convenient for users.
The developers have focused on providing officers and officials with a simple, quick and comfortable reading and reference experience. The mobile-based platform enables users to consult the Regulations while dealing with service, pension and other matters without the need to carry physical copies of the voluminous Regulations.
The initiative is also aimed at encouraging greater familiarity with the applicable rules and provisions among government employees and promoting a culture of informed and rule-based decision-making.
By bringing the JKCSR onto a mobile platform, the application provides an additional digital reference facility that can complement the existing sources of official rules and regulations.
The initiative reflects the efforts of Shahnawaz Qadir and Feroz Ahmad Mir to use technology to address a practical requirement of government functioning.
The application has been designed keeping in view the day-to-day needs of officers and officials who frequently require access to the JKCSR and related provisions. Its searchable and structured format is intended to reduce the time and effort involved in locating specific provisions.
All members of the government service have been encouraged to use the application and share their feedback and suggestions for its further improvement.
The developers have expressed the expectation that user feedback will help make the application more comprehensive, useful and user-friendly, besides enabling the incorporation of additional features in subsequent updates.
The JKCSR App is available on the Google Play Store and can be downloaded and installed on mobile devices. Its availability on the Apple App Store for iOS users will be introduced soon. (KDC)
