Poonch, Oct 3: Army personnel detained a 17-year-old girl from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) after she was found on the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC) in the Lam sector of Nowshera in Rajouri district, officials said.

According to officials, an Army patrol noticed the girl moving close to the LoC and took her into custody for questioning.

The girl was identified as Samiya Azeem, 17, daughter of Mohammad Azeem, a resident of Khuiretta in PoJK.

Officials said that after preliminary questioning, the Army handed her over to the police for further inquiry.

She is currently being questioned by Nowshera Police and has reportedly told investigators that she inadvertently crossed the LoC into Indian territory.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
