Srinagar, Aug 1 (KDC): Authorities on Saturday ordered the closure of all Government and private schools in Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban districts due to incessant rainfall and prevailing adverse weather conditions, officials said.
In Kishtwar, the decision was taken on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner as a precautionary measure in view of slippery road conditions and the possibility of shooting stones, which could endanger the safety of students and staff.
An order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kishtwar, said all Government and private schools in the district would remain closed on August 1.
However, to minimise academic disruption, all Heads of Institutions have been directed to conduct online classes through appropriate digital platforms and ensure their effective implementation.
Similar orders were issued by the district administrations in Doda and Ramban, directing the closure of all educational institutions in view of continuous rainfall and weather-related risks.
The authorities said the precautionary measure was taken to safeguard students, teaching staff and other employees, while advising the public to remain vigilant and follow official advisories as the wet spell continues across the Chenab Valley. (KDC)
