Srinagar, Jul 22, KDC: National Conference Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad escaped unhurt after his official vehicle was caught in a landslide on the Jammu–Poonch highway on Wednesday while he was on his way to visit flood-affected areas.

Despite the landslide, the MP continued his journey on foot to reach the affected areas and assess the situation on the ground.
Mian Altaf was travelling to meet families affected by the recent heavy rainfall and flash floods, which have caused widespread damage to residential houses, roads and other infrastructure in parts of the Jammu region.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, authorities are continuing to monitor the Jammu–Poonch highway, where intermittent landslides have been occurring following continuous rainfall. Travelers have been advised to exercise caution and follow the advisories issued by the district administration.
