Srinagar, July 22 (KDC): A police personnel who was injured in a terrorist attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
An official confirmed to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that the deceased policeman has been identified as Ashiq Hussain of the 3rd Battalion of the Indian Reserve Police (IRP) and a resident of Lalpora Beerwah, Budgam. He sustained critical injuries after terrorists attacked a police party in Anantnag and was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, where he later succumbed despite the efforts of doctors to save him.
Soon after the incident, security forces rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area, and launched a massive search operation to trace the terrorists.
