Srinagar: Radiant Public School, Anantnag, has emerged as the overall champion at the Kashmir-Level Debate Competition organised by the Wath Harbor Debate Union, with its team of young debaters—Zia Rouf, Zia-un-Nisa, and Zainab Azad—clinching the top honours.
Patron of Radiant Public School, Altaf Hussain Gado, congratulated the students on their achievement, saying their confidence, eloquence, critical thinking, effective communication, and maturity reflected the school’s commitment to holistic education.
He said the victory was a testament to the school’s vibrant academic culture, dedicated mentoring, and the students’ discipline, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. Gado added that the achievement reaffirmed the belief that education should go beyond academic success to nurture responsible, compassionate, and thoughtful citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
The competition was conducted in multiple stages, with preliminary rounds held across North, South, and Central Kashmir. Four schools—Welkin National School, Sopore; Birla Open Minds International School, Pampore; Presentation Convent School, Srinagar; and Radiant Public School, Anantnag—qualified for the semifinals.
The semifinals and grand finale were held on July 9 at the auditorium of Presentation Convent School, Srinagar.
