Srinagar, July 8: The District Administration Ganderbal on wednesday said it has taken cognizance of alleged irregularities in the on-the-spot registration process for Shri Amarnathji Yatra pilgrims at the Manigam Transit Camp and has initiated an investigation into the matter.
In an official statement, the administration said the matter is under investigation and appropriate action will be taken against anyone found involved in the irregularities.
The administration also clarified that the facility for on-the-spot registration is available at the Baltal Base Camp On-Spot Registration Centre, subject to verification of all prescribed documents and fulfilment of the required eligibility criteria.
Advising pilgrims to follow only the official registration process, the administration urged them to obtain registration exclusively through the authorised registration centre and not to fall prey to touts, middlemen or unauthorised persons claiming to facilitate registration in exchange for money or any other consideration.
Pilgrims have also been requested to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity or instances of malpractice to the authorities stationed at the base camp or the District Control Room Ganderbal on 0194-2416260, 0194-2416261, or 0194-2416229.
The District Administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent, fair and hassle-free registration process for all Shri Amarnathji Yatra pilgrims.
