Police said a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered and investigation taken up.

Meanwhile, in a separate naka checking operation conducted at Rangkadal Aishmuqam, another suspicious person travelling from Jamooh towards Aishmuqam attempted to evade the police party after spotting the naka checking team.

The suspect was apprehended and during search operations, police recovered approximately 13 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession. During preliminary questioning, he identified himself as Mehraj-u-Din Bala alias Pintu Bala, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bala, a resident of Peer Mohalla Aishmuqam.

Police have registered another case under relevant provisions of law and initiated investigation into the matter.
