Srinagar, May 05: A three-day cricket coaching camp organised by Zephyr Cricket Academy concluded, drawing participation from more than 500 young players from across Jammu and Kashmir.
Participants were grouped into under-16 and under-23 categories, with training sessions designed to address age-specific technical, tactical and fitness requirements.
The final day featured an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants engaged with coaches on aspects such as technique, match awareness, fitness and career pathways in cricket.
Former Ranji Trophy captain and BCCI Level-2 certified coach Samiullah Beigh said the level of engagement and awareness among participants was encouraging. Former first-class cricketer Omar Aalam noted that players had travelled from several districts, including Uri, Shopian, Kulgam, Kokernag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Poonch and Rajouri, to attend the camp.
The organisers said similar short-term camps are planned in the coming months ahead of the proposed launch of the Zephyr Cricket High Performance Center in August 2026.
Around 220 certificates were distributed to participants at the conclusion of the camp. The organisers also acknowledged the support of sponsors, including Axis Bank, Havells, Zaffron, Fast Beetle and Cafe Morels.
