According to an ACB statement, the Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Court Anantnag, awarded the sentence in FIR No. 09/1990 registered under Section 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act read with Section 409 RPC at Police Station VOK (now ACB).

The convicted persons were identified as Abdul Khaliq Shah, Ghulam Nabi Mir, Mohammad Shafi Rather, Ghulam Hassan Hajam and Muzaffar Ahmad Bichoo, all former storekeepers of the Food Supplies Department posted at different sale centres in Pahalgam and adjoining areas.
