Anantnag, April 27: The Drug Control Organisation Anantnag on Monday conducted surprise inspections at multiple locations in the district and suspended the operations of six medical shops on the spot for alleged violations of drug regulations.
Officials said inspection teams carried out checks in Batengoo, Jablipora Bijbehara, Arwani Bijbehara and adjoining areas. During the drive, several establishments were found lacking mandatory records related to sale and purchase of medicines.
Acting on the findings, authorities suspended the operations of six medical stores for failure to maintain prescribed records, which is a violation under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
The suspended establishments include Healthcare Medical Store Batengoo, R.I Pharmacy Jablipora, War Alshifa Medical Store Arwani, Shining Medical Store Arwani, Alshifa Medical Store Arwani and Healthcare Medical Store Arwani.
Officials said similar inspection drives will continue across the district and action will be taken against any establishment found violating drug control regulations.
