Srinagar, Mar 12: The Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, is participating in the Horti India Expo 2026 being held at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka in New Delhi from March 12 to March 14.

The expo, organised by SV Global Expo, serves as a Business-to-Business (B2B) platform dedicated to horticulture, agro-processing, value addition technologies, branding and global market integration.

Officials said the event aims to provide national and international market access to emerging companies, innovative products and agri-horticulture enterprises.

As part of the initiative, 10 Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs) from across Jammu and Kashmir have been facilitated and mobilised by the department to participate in the event under the ‘Participation in Trade Fairs’ activity of JKCIP (Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors of J&K). The participants are showcasing a range of horticultural and agricultural produce before a global audience.

The event was inaugurated by Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, who attended the programme as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Zargar welcomed participants from across the world and highlighted the importance of national and international B2B platforms in promoting the growth of the agriculture and horticulture sector.

He also spoke about the diverse horticultural produce of Jammu and Kashmir, with special emphasis on value-added products produced by FPOs in the Union Territory.

Zargar further highlighted various government initiatives, including JKHADP and JKCIP, aimed at the holistic upliftment of the farming community in Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening agricultural value chains, improving market access and enhancing farmers’ income.

The event has drawn participation from several international markets including Russia, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Germany and other European countries, besides participants from across India.
