Srinagar, Mar 6, KDC: Authorities on Thursday said that restrictions will be imposed in parts of Srinagar on Friday to maintain law and order following the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
A senior police officer said the restrictions are being put in place as a precautionary measure to ensure the situation remains peaceful in the city.
“In view of Friday prayers, restrictions will be further tightened in Srinagar city and no movement towards Lal Chowk will be allowed,” the officer said, adding that all roads leading to the city centre will remain restricted and security forces will regulate movement in sensitive areas.
The police and civil administration are closely monitoring the situation and additional measures may be taken depending on developments, the officer said. (KDC)
