Jammu, Feb 10, KDC: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has stated that a proposal seeking enhancement of the monthly honorarium of Personal Assistants (PAs) engaged with MLAs is currently under examination in the Finance Department.
The clarification came in response to an Un-Starred Assembly Question (No. 1161) tabled by Tariq Hameed Karra, who sought details on whether Personal Assistants working with MLAs had demanded an increase in their monthly honorarium along with TA/DA and other emoluments at par with parliamentary staff.
In its written reply, the Finance Department informed the House that a proposal regarding enhancement of honorarium has been received from the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department. The proposal is presently under examination, reported news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
However, the government did not specify any timeline for finalising the proposal or implementing revised emoluments. (KDC)
