Srinagar Police secure 14-year conviction along with Rs 15000 fine in POCSO Case

The case pertains to the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor girl, aged 17 years, reported on 11.04.2021. Acting swiftly, Srinagar Police conducted a thorough investigation, recovered the victim, recorded statements of witnesses, collected evidence and ensured medical and forensic examination as per proper legal procedures, it reads.

Upon completion of investigation, police stated, charge-sheet was filed the Fast Track Court (POCSO), Srinagar. After a detailed trial, the Court found the accused guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

The statement further reads that on 30.12.2025, the Court convicted the accused and sentenced him to 14 years of imprisonment along with a fine of ₹15,000.

Srinagar Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against women and children and remains committed to ensuring justice for victims through prompt and professional investigation. (KDC)
