Srinagar, Jan 24, KDC: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday accorded cabinet minister rank and status to Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, with the issuance of a fresh government order outlining his terms and conditions of appointment.
According to Government Order No.109-JK (GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the decision is in continuation of an earlier order dated October 16, 2024. The order specifies that Nasir Aslam Wani shall enjoy the rank and status of a Cabinet Minister while serving as Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K.
As per the notified terms, Wani will receive a consolidated monthly salary of ₹80,000. He will be provided transport facilities by the Motor Garages Department and rent-free residential accommodation by the Estates Department at both Jammu and Srinagar. The Chief Minister’s Secretariat has been designated as the feeding department.
The order has been issued with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor and was signed by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, GAD, M. Raju (IAS). Copies of the order have been circulated to all concerned administrative departments and authorities for information and compliance. (KDC)
