SAMBA, JANUARY 21: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan today chaired a meeting in the Conference Hall of DC office Complex Nandani Hills to review and finalize arrangements for the celebration of the 16th National Voters’ Day (NVD), 2026.

National Voters’ Day is observed every year on 25th January across the country to commemorate the foundation day of the Election Commission of India and to promote informed and active participation of citizens in the democratic process. In line with this objective, a series of awareness and outreach activities shall be organized across Samba district, with special focus on newly enrolled and first-time voters.

The meeting was informed that events would be organized at polling stations. The newly registered voters would be felicitated by providing Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) and badges. The Voters’ Pledge events shall be held at all levels, emphasizing the importance of ethical voting and electoral participation.

To enhance youth participation, the NCC cadets would be actively involved  in the awareness programmes. “The theme for National Voters’ Day 2026, “My India, My Vote”, will be highlighted through outreach and awareness initiatives” the meeting was told.

The main district-level function will be held at the District Headquarters. Concerned officials were directed to ensure maximum voter enrolment and participation, particularly among eligible youth.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Jagdish Singh, ASP, Garu Ram and other concerned officers.
