Srinagar, Jan 15: CPI(M) Central Committee Member and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kulgam Constituency, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday stated that Profiling mosques in Kashmir is “unwarranted” as it only adds another layer to prevailing discontent. He said authorities must refrain from targeting or controlling places of worship of a specific community.
He cautioned that such actions amount to interference in religious affairs and undermine the constitutional guarantee of freedom of religion. “Such actions only deepen alienation and erode public trust”, he added.
