Pulwama, Jan 13, KDC: As part of its sustained crackdown on narcotics trafficking and efforts to dismantle the financial backbone of the drug trade, Pulwama Police, through SIT NDPS Pulwama, has attached a residential property worth lakhs of rupees in the Karimabad area of Pulwama.

Police said the attached property is a single-storied residential house constructed on land bearing Khasra No. 1735 Min (Abad-i-Deh), Khewat No. 485 and Khata No. 992 at Karimabad, Tehsil Pulwama. The property belongs to Fayaz Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Karimabad.

According to officials, investigations revealed that the property was illegally acquired through proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking. Acting under Section 68-F(1) read with Chapter-VA of the NDPS Act, 1985, the competent authority seized and attached the property vide Order No. 01/2026 dated January 13, 2026.

Police said the accused is involved in multiple NDPS cases, including FIR No. 248/2025 and FIR No. 39/2025, both registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Pulwama, indicating his continued involvement in drug-related illegal activities.

Pulwama Police reiterated its firm resolve to combat the drug menace in the district, stressing that stringent legal action will continue not only against those involved in narcotics trafficking but also against properties and assets acquired through illicit means. The police said such measures are aimed at breaking the financial networks that sustain the drug trade and safeguarding society from the growing threat of narcotics abuse. (KDC)
