Srinagar, Jan 09: The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway remained open on Friday for vehicular movement, allowing traffic from both the Jammu and Srinagar sides.
A senior traffic official said that both Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) and Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) were permitted to ply along the highway as per the scheduled traffic plan.
“The road condition is stable and traffic is moving smoothly from both ends,” the official said, adding that no major disruptions were reported during the day.
Commuters have been urged to follow traffic advisories, avoid unnecessary stops, and drive cautiously, officials said.
Traffic authorities further stated that the highway is being continuously monitored, and any update or regulation change, based on weather or road conditions will be communicated in a timely manner.
