Srinagar, Dec 31, KDC: The Court of 2nd Additional Munsiff, Srinagar, presided over by Vikas Bharadwaj disposed of 57 challan cases in a single day, many of which had been pending for over a decade.
According to details, the cases primarily involved old and long-pending challans that had accumulated over the years. The court undertook a focused exercise to address these matters, resulting in their disposal within a day.
This follows a similar effort last month, when the same court disposed of 51 cases, indicating a continued emphasis on reducing case pendency.
Members of the Bar and litigants welcomed the initiative, noting that the disposal of long-pending cases helps ease the burden on litigants and contributes to timely justice.
The development is being seen as a step towards improving judicial efficiency at the subordinate court level in Srinagar. (KDC)
