Srinagar, Dec 27, KDC: Baramulla Police has cracked down on dangerous snow stunts at Gulmarg, booking two individuals from Srinagar, including social media influencer Imad ur Rehman, who now faces his second FIR in recent months for alleged traffic and environmental violations. Police said the reckless driving on snow-covered public roads put pedestrians and commuters at serious risk, leading to the immediate seizure of the vehicles involved and the initiation of legal proceedings.
According to an official statement, Police Station Gulmarg registered FIR No. 19/2025 under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act against Imad ur Rehman Miya, a social media influencer from Molvi Stop, Lal Bazar, Srinagar, and Mohd Munzarin Kullu of Alamdar Colony, Lal Bazar, Srinagar.
Police said the duo was caught engaging in reckless driving on snow-covered public roads, creating a life-threatening situation for commuters and pedestrians. The vehicles, bearing registration numbers JK01BB-3417 and JK01AP-5151, were seized on the spot, and legal proceedings have been initiated, reported news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
Following the incident, police counselled the accused and issued a stern warning against repeating such behaviour, advising strict adherence to traffic rules, especially during snowfall and slippery road conditions.
Sources confirmed that this is the second FIR registered against Imad in recent months. Earlier, on October 5, he was booked in Budgam district under relevant sections of law for allegedly leading several Thar vehicles into the ecologically sensitive Breinwar forest area, an act classified as trespass into restricted forest land.
Following the complaint from the Forest Department, Police Station Chadoora registered an FIR against Imad Miya and others under relevant sections of the Forest Act.
After the Budgam incident, the influencer uploaded a 12-minute video on social media documenting the alleged trespass, which evoked intense public debate and online criticism. (KDC)
