Srinagar, Nov 30, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir will regain representation in the Rajya Sabha after nearly five years, with three National Conference leaders set to take oath as members of the Upper House of Parliament on Monday, the opening day of the Winter Session.
Shammi Oberoi, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, and Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan will be administered the oath by Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan.
Their swearing-in marks Jammu and Kashmir’s formal return to Rajya Sabha proceedings after a prolonged hiatus following the reorganisation of the erstwhile state and the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
The three leaders were elected in the Rajya Sabha polls held on October 24 for the four seats allocated to the Union Territory. (KDC)
