Srinagar, Nov 29, KDC: A pre-dawn fire on Saturday damaged several rooms of the Outpatient Department (OPD) building of JVC Hospital, Bemina, Srinagar, officials said.
The blaze, which erupted around 6:10 am, affected multiple faculty rooms and property on the first floor of the OPD block. Fire and Emergency Services personnel, assisted by hospital staff, managed to bring the flames under control before they could spread to other sections of the building.
Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries occurred during the incident.
They said the prompt response helped restrict the fire to four faculty rooms, preventing further damage to adjoining facilities and upper floors.
The cause of the fire is being probed, while authorities have begun assessing the extent of the loss.
