Srinagar, Nov 27, KDC: In a continued crackdown against networks linked to terrorist organisations and to strengthen de-radicalisation measures, Srinagar Police on Thursday carried out extensive searches across madrassas and masjids in all city zones.
According to police, the coordinated operation was aimed at dismantling the terror support ecosystem and preventing any conspiratorial or unlawful activities that may threaten peace and national security.
Search teams accompanied by Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses inspected multiple religious and educational establishments and examined digital devices, documents and other materials suspected to be relevant for ongoing investigations.
Police said the searches were conducted strictly in line with legal procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
“These operations are part of a sustained effort to identify and neutralise individuals or networks involved in radical or terror-linked activities. Similar actions will continue wherever credible inputs suggest the presence of such elements,” an official said.
Srinagar Police urged residents to cooperate with the investigations and report any suspicious activity, reiterating its commitment to safeguarding public safety and maintaining peace in the region. (KDC)
