Srinagar, Nov 17, KDC: The Special Mobile Magistrate Traffic Srinagar has achieved a milestone in virtual traffic challan disposal and fine recovery, processing more than 2.1 lakh challans and collecting over seven crore rupees in fines in the last fourteen months.

As per official figures, the court presided over by Touseef Ahmad Magray disposed of a total of 2,10,117 challans from September 2024 to 17 November 2025. This is regarded as one of the highest disposal counts recorded in the traffic enforcement system of Srinagar. During the same period, fines amounting to rupees 7,07,06,850 were recovered.

Officials said the achievement reflects improved case management, timely adjudication and stronger coordination between the judiciary and traffic enforcement agencies. The increasing use of online platforms for payment of fines has also contributed to faster processing and better compliance.

Special Mobile Magistrate Traffic Touseef Ahmad Magray said the results were made possible due to the dedicated efforts of judicial staff, the traffic police and a rise in public awareness about traffic rules and digital payment systems. He urged commuters to continue following traffic laws to ensure safer and more orderly road movement across Kashmir.

The court extended its appreciation to the citizens for their cooperation and encouraged consistent adherence to traffic regulations for safer commuting in the region. (KDC)
