Kulgam, November 10, KDC: Continuing its sustained efforts to uproot the terror ecosystem from the grassroots level, Police in Kulgam today carried out a massive crackdown across multiple locations in the district. The operation targeted Over Ground Workers (OGWs), UAPA and PSA accused persons, sympathisers, and relatives of killed and active terrorists, particularly in areas where encounters had earlier taken place.
During the operation, eight relatives of J&K Nationals Operating from Pak/PoK (JKNOPs) and OGWs were detained and shifted to jail under preventive laws. Several suspects were also questioned, and multiple houses were searched.
In a parallel legal move, Police has filed 16 applications for cancellation of bail granted to accused persons booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
This action is part of Police’s Zero-Tolerance Policy towards terrorism and its support networks. Police reiterates its firm commitment to dismantling every layer of the terror support structure and ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability in the district.
