Srinagar, Oct 9: Security forces on Thursday said they had busted a terrorist hideout in the forest area of Kupwara district and recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and other war-like stores.
An official said that acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police on October 8 in the Brijthor forest area of Warsun in Kupwara.
“During the search, the joint team uncovered a well-concealed hideout and recovered two AK-series rifles, four rocket launchers, a large quantity of ammunition, and other war-like materials,” the official said.
The recovery, according to officials, marks a significant success in the ongoing efforts of security forces to deny terrorists access to weapons and disrupt their support networks in the region.
