Srinagar, Sept 18: Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday urged Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi to use his mandate in Parliament for highlighting the pressing concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, instead of targeting his own party-led government.
Talking to reporters, Itoo said Ruhullah was elected on a National Conference ticket with the responsibility to represent the people’s voice at the national level. “Rather than criticising us here, he should focus on raising the core issues of our region in the Parliament,” she said.
The Minister said that the parliamentarians carry a duty to speak on behalf of their constituents and that criticism should not overshadow constructive representation. —(KDC)
