Srinagar, July 14 (KDC): A motorcyclist was critically injured after being allegedly hit by an Army Casper vehicle near Asham village in Sumbal, Bandipora, on Monday evening.

Reports reaching Srinagar-based news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com said that the victim, identified as Zubair Ahmad Rather, a PhD scholar and son of late Ghulam Nabi Rather from Ajas, was rushed to CHC Sumbal before being referred to a Srinagar hospital in critical condition.

Locals allege the Army vehicle was involved, but officials have yet to confirm the circumstances.

An army officer said that the individual was trying to overtake on a narrow stretch. His bike slipped and collided with vehicle and unfortunately got injured. “Helped him in all possible manner including speedy evacuation,” he added.

A police officer said they are thoroughly investigating the incident from all angles and necessary legal action will be taken accordingly. (KDC)
