SRINAGAR: In an effort to bridge the gap between police and the public, a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was organized at Police Station Khag. The meeting was chaired by SSP Budgam, Nikhil Borkar (IPS), and was attended by SDPO Magam, Mohd Ashrif, and SHO Khag, Mudassir Naseer.

The meeting witnessed a significant turnout, with 400–500 people from various areas, including Khag, Poshker, Sitharan, Drang, Nowgam, and Shoplian, shunglipora, Kokerbagh etc etc. Respectable persons and civil society members actively participated in the discussion.

During the meeting, participants raised several public issues, including concerns related to transport, electricity, road infrastructure, and drinking water supply. SSP Budgam assured the attendees that genuine concerns will be taken up with the relevant authorities for immediate redressal, while police-related matters will be resolved at the earliest.

While addressing the gathering, SSP Budgam emphasized the importance of strengthening police-public relations and urged the community to cooperate with law enforcement in eliminating crime and social evils from society. The participants appreciated the police’s efforts in facilitating community engagement and assured their full support in maintaining law and order.

Certain police-related demands were addressed on the spot, while other grievances concerning different departments were noted and will be forwarded to the concerned authorities for necessary action.

The meeting successfully reinforced the commitment of J&K Police towards community engagement, ensuring that public concerns are heard and addressed effectively.
