Srinagar, Dec 16, KDC: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the admission process for its various academic programs for the January 2025 admission cycle. The applicants can access the admission portal on the University’s National website.

Candidates aspiring for admission may complete the admission process on the portal before January 31, 2025.

The university offers admission to various UG, PG, Certificate, Diploma, PG Diploma programmes in distance learning and online education mode. Before filling the admission form online, a candidate needs to create a User ID and Password on the SAMARTH portal and be ready with a Mobile Number, Email ID, properly scanned academic documents, photograph and banking details for payment of fee.

Learners must exercise caution and be vigilant while submitting their admission forms. They must note their User ID and Password for future use. Also DEB ID is mandatory for submission of application, which must be created before starting the application process.

IGNOU has launched around 60 new programmes in the year 2023-24 which include Four-year undergraduate programmes (FYUP) in Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology Anthropology, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Biochemistry, Facilities and Service Management.

Dr A.H. Rizvi, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar informed that the candidates who wish to be a part of IGNOU must avail this opportunity and apply for any of the programmes of their choice well before the last date.

Rizvi cautioned the prospective learners not to fall in trap of fraudulent persons or callers who may approach for payment of admission fees through QR Codes, WhatsApp or any other social media platforms because the university does not ask for any such details on any platforms other than the University website itself.
