SRINAGAR: Aspirants from the Fire and Emergency Services Department have met with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to demand justice over a ‘recruitment scam’ that they claim has derailed their careers.

In a statement issued after the meeting, the delegation of aspirants described their case, citing extensive evidence of “family scams, paper leaks, and backdoor entries” that they have documented since October 2020.

“Our delegation had a significant meeting with Hon’ble CM Omar Abdullah Sahab, where we laid bare the troubling details of the recruitment scam that has marred our career,” the aspirants said. “Armed with evidence we meticulously gathered since October 2020—ranging from family scams, paper leaks, and backdoor entries—we presented our case to Omar Sahab.”

The delegation expressed confidence that justice would soon be served after Chief Minister Abdullah reviewed the findings.

“He reviewed the findings from the thorough report compiled by Shri Raj Kumar Goyal Sahab, which was crafted with integrity and transparency,” the aspirants added.

Reflecting on their efforts to expose the alleged irregularities, the aspirants said, “Now, we stand on the brink of justice—a culmination of years of unwavering determination. Throughout this challenging journey, we never lost hope. We firmly believed we had been wronged, that our hard work had been dismissed, but now the tide is turning. Those responsible will be held accountable by the law, and we are ready to see justice served.”

The aspirants have been vocal about their grievances for several years, calling for transparency and accountability in the recruitment process. Their recent meeting with CM Abdullah is seen as a key step forward in their pursuit of redress. (KDC)
