Srinagar: The wildlife department has tranquilized two wild boars spotted near CD Hospital in the Dalgate area of summer capital Srinagar, officials said on Tuesday.
The officials told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that local residents reported sightings of the boars roaming close to busy streets. Wildlife officials responded promptly, deploying tranquilizers to safely capture the animals and relocate them to a more suitable environment, they said.
The operation was executed with care to ensure the well-being of the boars, who will be monitored before being released back into their natural habitat, the officials said.
The wildlife department noted the importance of maintaining a safe distance from wildlife and urged citizens to report any similar sightings to prevent conflicts. (KDC)
