SRINAGAR: A 34-year-old Farooq Ahmad Ganaie, former member of Jamaat-e-Islami, filed his nomination papers for the Beerwah Assembly segment in Budgam district today.
Speaking to reporters, Ganaie as per Kashmir Dot Com expressed his concerns about the rise in drug addiction, immorality, and highhandedness in the region.
Ganaie, a resident of Sozeith Goripora, highlighted the targeting of religious personalities, citing instances of summoning them to police stations on national holidays like Independence Day and Republic Day.
He also mentioned the harassment of individuals with FIRs registered against them.
Ganaie declared that his fight is against the prevailing culture of highhandedness, advocating for a free, fair, and peaceful environment. (KDC)
