SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, forecasting light to moderate rains with thundershowers at isolated locations across the region until September 3. The department also warned of potential flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas, with possible waterlogging in low-lying regions.
“The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with intermittent light to moderate rains in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir today. From August 31 to September 1, the weather will likely be mostly dry, with only brief spells of rain and thundershowers in isolated areas,” the MeT said.
Between September 2 and 3, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thundershowers are expected in several parts of the region. However, from September 4 to 6, the weather is predicted to be generally dry. A new spell of light to moderate rain, mainly over the Jammu division, is expected from September 7 to 8, they added.
The department reiterated the advisory for potential flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, especially in vulnerable locations, with the possibility of waterlogging in some low-lying areas. (KDC)
