Srinagar, June 17: An unidentified militant has been killed in a gunfight between militants and security forces in the Aragam area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A top police officer informed Srinagar-based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the gunfight broke out following a specific input received by police and security forces.
During the firefight, one militant was killed, with his body visible from a distance.
The identity of the slain militant is being verified, the officer added. As of the filing of this report, the operation in the area is still ongoing.
Earlier, police said 13 RR opened fire after spotting some suspicious movement when a CASO was laid in the forest area. (KDC)
