The DM underlined the need to carry out sustained activities under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan in the educational institutions, while directing the CEO to peddle up the campaign to spread awareness among the students. “All the stakeholder departments should also intensify the drive on mission mode to make panchayats Nasha Mukt across the district”, he added.

Tehsildars and Block Level Committees were asked to keep vigil on the cultivation of illegal crops like cannabis and poppy. He also directed the CMO to further equip drug de-addiction/rehabilitation centres at District Hospital Ramban.

Reviewing the measures taken by the enforcement agencies to curb the drug abuse and narcotics traffic in the district, the District Magistrate directed them  to conduct regular meetings with the Sarpanches and PRIs to implement all the directions of NCORD in letter and spirit.

The District Magistrate directed the ADC to monitor progress of Tehsildars on their achievements for declaring panchayats Nasha Mukt in their respective tehsils.

The SDMs were asked to ensure strict implementation of NARCO guidelines, besides imposing crackdown on smoking and sale of tobacco products in the periphery of educational and health institutions, besides public places in their respective  jurisdictions.
