Srinagar, 16 Sep, KDC: Jammu Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Saturday strongly condemned the thrashing, assault, arrests and intimidation of Kashmiri students in Desh Bhagat University (DBU) of Punjab.
PDP spokesperson Rouf Bhat while strongly condemning the incident said that it is unfortunate to see Kashmiri female students being thrashed, dragged, arrested and humiliated in full public view which he called inhuman and barbaric.
He said that Desh Bhagat University’s harsh treatment with Kashmir students in particular with female students is highly condemnable and unacceptable. Bhat also expressed surprise at the move of DBU to transfer admission of Nursing students to a college which is not recognised by the Indian Nursing Council and nor by Punjab Nursing Registration Council.
“The step from the DBU will ruin the careers of the students already admitted by the University in said course. The management of the Institute should immediately withdraw its decision and tender an apology to the students who had to go through the worst ordeal,” Bhat said.
He also urged the Punjab government to take cognisance of this grave issue and save the future of hundreds of affected students from getting ruined. (KDC)
